Why the passion for this message? School activities saved me. They possibly saved me from a life without a high school diploma. They gave me reason to walk through our high school doors when I wasn’t a good student and still feel proud about myself. School activities kept me around the right people and kept me eligible to earn my diploma and later, a college degree. 20 years later I’m compelled to share the blessings and knowledge that come from being involved in school activities. Today I know what being around my school blessed me with, and I’m honest enough to know my failures within school activities helped shape my future success.
